The laptop works on Windows 7, but it seems that due to the different radio management api on Windows 10, the Wifi radio is always "Hardware off" and the HP wireless button will not turn it on. It would seem to be a driver issue to me as when I hit the wireless button, it toggles bluetooth and airplane mode, but does nothing for the wifi.
I have a hp pavilion power laptop (Model numbers: 15-cb000 – 15-cb099) and the wifi is not working in it. My laptop does not show any available networks to connect to. I go to troubleshoot it through windows 10 settings and it gives the possible solution of a network reset which I have tried multiple times and has not worked.

The answer for me turned up in the HP Wireless Assistance. 1) Open HP Wireless Assistant and select the "Properties" setting. This opens a "Settings" dialog box. 2) Select the "Independent Controls" button, then "Apply" 3) This adds an "Action" field in HP Wireless Assistant for the wireless network card. 4) Select "Turn On" in the Action field.
